The short version: we only collect what you choose to send us, we use it to reply and work with you, we never sell it, and this website uses no cookies or tracking. Chat messages are used only to answer you and aren't saved by us.

Maashee (“we”, “us”) is a small software and technology team based in Iraq. We run the website maashee.com.

What we collect
- What you send us. When you email us or use our contact form, we receive your name, your email address and anything you choose to include, such as your phone number, business name and project details. The contact form sends your message through our website, hosted on Cloudflare, straight to our email inbox. We don't keep a copy on the website or in any database. If that isn't available, the form opens your own email app with the message ready for you to send instead.
- Chat messages. If you use the AI chat assistant, the messages you type are sent to our chat service to generate replies. See “AI chat assistant” below.
- Client information. If you become a client, we handle the business information needed to deliver and support your project. Our written agreement with you also applies. If we set up an online store for you on Shopify, the store and its customer data live in your own Shopify account, under Shopify's terms and privacy policy.
- Basic technical logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used only to keep the site secure and working, and is kept for a short time.
We do not take payments through this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media pixels. Our fonts and images are hosted on our own site.
If you choose light or dark mode, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage on your device. It's only used to show the site the way you like, and it's never sent to us.
If you use the chat assistant, your browser keeps the conversation in temporary “session storage” so it isn't lost when you move between our pages. It's deleted automatically when you close the tab, and it isn't a cookie or tracker.
Links to our Facebook and Instagram pages only take you to those platforms when you click them. Once there, their own privacy policies apply.
AI chat assistant
Our website chat is an AI assistant, not a person. When you send a message:
- it goes to our chat service, hosted on Cloudflare, and is processed by our AI provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude), to write a reply;
- we don't save chat conversations in any database, and we don't use them for marketing;
- our providers may keep limited technical logs for security and abuse prevention, as described in their own policies, and Anthropic does not use this data to train its AI models by default;
- answers can sometimes be wrong. Anything important, such as prices or timelines, is only confirmed in writing by our team.
Please don't share personal or sensitive information in the chat. To discuss a project, email us instead.
How we use your information
- To reply to your messages and prepare quotes.
- To deliver, support and improve the services you ask for.
- To send invoices and keep the records the law requires.
- To keep our website and systems secure.
We only send you marketing messages if you agree, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
AI and your data
If a project uses AI tools, we tell you which tools or providers will process your data before we start. We share only what is needed for the task, and we never use your business data to train AI models without your written approval.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- with trusted service providers that help us operate, such as email, hosting, cloud and AI services, who must keep it confidential;
- when required by Iraqi law or by a competent authority;
- with your permission.
Storage and security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Some of our service providers may store data on servers outside Iraq; we choose reputable providers with strong security. No method of sending data over the internet is 100% secure, so please do not email us passwords or bank card details.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't turn into a project: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Client records: for as long as we work together and afterwards for as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
Your choices
You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (unless the law requires us to keep it). Email us at info@maashee.com and we will reply within 30 days.
Legal framework
We respect the right to privacy protected by Article 17 of the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq, and we handle information in line with applicable Iraqi laws, including the Electronic Signature and Electronic Transactions Law No. 78 of 2012. Where the laws of the Kurdistan Region apply, we follow them too. If a dedicated Iraqi data protection law comes into force, we will update this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
